Can you stop your mind chatter?

You can only manage your mind chatter, overactive, racing thoughts if you train your brain to be in your control. You probably have heard of brain training, but do not know how to do it yet.

The safest way to have control over your thoughts is by practicing meditation. However, it is premature to sit down to meditate without proper awareness training. Daily mental awareness activity exercises are the solution.

Step 1 of meditating correctly is physical sensory awareness. Once you understand how to use your senses to experience a pleasant moment and stored it onto your memory, you are ready for step 2 which is the meditation awareness activities.

These activities will help you to momentarily give a command to your brain, and your brain responds back. The result is that you'll be able to play with your thoughts or mind chatter in silence.

Learning to calm your overactive thoughts is a massive valuable skill that will transform all aspects of your life regardless if you do or don't do meditation later on.

These physical and mental awareness activities just by itself are enough to elevate your state of being at any moment you decide to practice them.

How I control my thoughts?

I used to get frustrated during meditation because I wasn't able to get any results. I did not know what to think about while meditation. There were no clear guidance on how to do it correctly. I also did not know how to apply meditation to my own challenges or use meditation to solve them. I kept practicing meditation because I knew there's something about it which I did not know at the time. I'm glad I did.

When I had an experience during one of my meditation sessions that I did not want to come back to reality then I understood the goal of bypassing your logical mind or mind chatter. From that point on, my meditations were all about disregarding my thoughts and mind chatter. As I practiced more, the speed and the level of the profound joy that I experienced went up. Then, I realized that I can control my thoughts when I wasn't meditating. This was a major break through in my meditation journey.

Now, I cannot stay sad, unless I want to. I cannot be afraid, unless it's a real threat. I cannot be stressed, unless I allow it to build. I cannot worry for more than a few minutes because I can control what to think about in the present time.

Mental Awareness Activity Exercises

  1. When you are bored, daydream and visualize yourself to be in your happy place. This will uplift your emotions instantly.
  2. When you are disappointed about something and your expectation was not met, rather than staying disappointed all day long, decide to recall on one of your physical sensory activities to change the course of your thought pattern instantly.
  3. When you feel burned out and you feel you need a break, then go on a real virtual vacation. Isolate yourself for a few minutes physically or just close your eyes and isolate yourself mentally and remember good memories of your last vacation or daydream about what you'll do on your next vacation.
  4. When you are worried, decide to think of the best case scenarios instead of spiraling negative worst case scenarios.
  5. Next time when you are sad, think of anything that made you laugh, or just go to your happy place again.
  6. When you are afraid, deliberately change the negative what ifs to positive what if and chase your fears away in seconds.
  7. When you are nervous for any reason, think of the situation as bigger than yourself. Think that you are a very small not so important piece of puzzle at the moment.

What's The Purpose of Mental Awareness Activities?

The first purpose is to:

  1. Take the time to acknowledge your thought patterns.
  2. Replace your negative or unwanted thought patterns with something positive.

This is the way to train your brain that you are in control whenever you want it. Isn't it great?

What's The Next Step?

After you have the ability to break your current thought pattern and replace it with something different, then you will be ready for the next step of awareness which is spiritual or heart awareness.

Did I get your attention? Great! Your journey has just begun.
