Who Is Not Skeptic About Meditation?

I was practicing meditation with some skepticism from time to time. Now that I think back, it was all excuses I made for myself not to invest time or energy into my personal growth. I continued practicing despite my skepticism, and I'm glad I did.

My goal was higher spirituality with the ultimate goal to live a happier life. What I got back from my meditation practices was much more than I expected. Sometimes, I think about how I made my journey from Afghanistan, where I was born and raised, to live on the most desirable tropical island that is nothing short of my imaginary paradise. When I started my journey, I didn’t know that I would be uprooted eight times and travel half of the world around. How it happened was nothing short of small and big miracles.

I am eternally grateful to every one of my guides, visible and invisible, for where I am today. However, I attribute a big part of this success to the power of meditation and manifestation, the law of attraction, letting go, and going with the flow. Realizing that when you least expect it, a miracle is about to happen.

Doubt 1: Not Clear Outcome

When I was doubting meditation because I did not know the outcome very clearly, I was trying to understand it with my logic and reasoning. It took some time for the logic to subside. Then I was able to surrender and let the universe take over with full confidence believing that nothing can go wrong from now on.

Doubt 2: My Own Judgment

When I was prematurely judging people who meditated, it was actually because of fear. When my fears slowly disappeared, I gained much more confidence in my own ability to practice and use meditation how it fits my life. I don’t have to be anyone but myself at all times. I give myself permission to be myself, and I give other people permission to be who they want to be. Without judgment the mental barrier I created for myself disappeared.

Why You Should Continue?

Meditation practice is one of the most powerful tools for personal growth. Yet, we hesitate to utilize it. It may be not because we have doubts about meditation, but the real reasons could be:

  • We don’t think we deserve to achieve happiness
  • We put other people’s priorities before our own needs, or
  • We are afraid of staying calm in a loud and chaotic world.

But, whatever is the case, if you continue your practice, you’ll prove to yourself that you deserve to live your one unique and authentic life for yourself. That life is not a dream, but it’s within your reach. Only if you break your excuse barriers that are within yourself.

Q: What is stopping you from practicing meditation? Let’s talk about it in the comments section below.
