How To Live For Yourself?

When you are asking how to live for yourself, it means that you have just realized that you have been giving most of your time, talent and energy to others and have put their needs ahead of yourself. Obviously, from time to time, we do that for our loved ones, but it is rarely happens that you dedicate your life to another person or even a great cause, unless you are Nelson Mandela or Mahatma Gandhi.

I am so glad that you are asking this question, and it looks like now you are about to take responsibility for fulfilling your own needs, wants and desires. It doesn't matter at what age or stage of life you are in. It is enough that you have realized the need to stay true to yourself and make your life worthwhile.

Living For Yourself Means Loving Yourself

Sometimes, you make the mistake of thinking that if you live for yourself, it is selfish. It is perceived that if you love yourself it is selfish because this is what you were taught as a child. In reality, there's no greater reward in life other than to live for yourself and share your unique talents, strengths and wisdom with the world. If you have a little faith in your creation, you are manifestation of love; God loves you, protects you, so why not love God's creation with your own life and your purpose in life. On the other hand, personalities like Nelson Mandela or Mahatma Gandhi were, in fact, the most selfish people who loved themselves over and beyond anybody thinks of them. They loved themselves so much that they decided to live life their way and leave their name alive in all mankind's history forever. Just think about it.

Living For Yourself Means Confidence

In order to stay true to yourself and live life you way, you'll need t have a level of confidence to overcome all the obstacles and challenges that come along your way. You'll need to believe in your gut feeling that you are right and you can make it. With confidence about wanting something so bad, you can make everyone believe you know what you are doing. Are you ready?

Stop Thinking & Start Living

Sometimes, you think a lot and are always in preparation and planning mode that you don't get to practice and experience things that you have in mind. I was one of these people. Without any valid reason, I thought that I am not ready, or the time that I fulfill my dreams has not come yet. I always knew what to do when the time comes; I found joy in preparation and in thinking, but that does not serve me any longer. Now, I am also at a point to not plan too much and start taking action even if they are not perfect. I am ready to make decisions fast and without a lot of thinking. My new point of view about life is this: Living is experiencing not thinking about the experience.

Three things will help you to Start over and choose to live life with purpose:

  • Take responsibility for your own happiness and your own life. It requires some work
  • Know exactly what makes you happy and start experiencing them one by one
  • Get rid of your own self limiting beliefs because no one is forcing you not to live for yourself
