We’re all under a lot of pressure these days…. and it comes from every direction: work, responsibilities, income, expenses, career advancements, living condition, health and relationship problems, our own self-doubt and negative emotions, our local community issues, and the bad news from around the world.

Over time, this pressure builds and creates a big balloon in our head that strains our body to properly function and prevents us to enjoy life as naturally as we are supposed to do. So, it’s important to learn how to pop this balloon in our head as often as we need to bring ourselves back to our internal peace. Of course, everybody’s timing is different. Some build pressure faster so they need to pop their balloon more often.

I know of five ways that you can pop this balloon instantly:

  1. The first one is to have sex! Yes, orgasm pops the balloon in your head - and probably that's how the world's population is growing so fast....
  2. The second way to pop this balloon is to ride a roller coaster or a similar ride. When you feel you are free-falling out of the sky, the balloon gets popped.
  3. The third way is laughing out loud until you cry.
  4. The fourth way is to let go and dance
  5. The final and the best method to pop the balloon in your head is meditation. This is a direct and conscious way of taking an action for the purposes of popping the balloon safely. It’s free; it’s accepted to be done in public; you can do it alone, anywhere, anytime, and it’s easy to do.

By the way, the last three methods are practiced in our meditation dance classes. Try some of these methods the next time you are stressed, frustrated, lonely or having any negative emotions, and make popping the balloon in your head an every day fun habit. You’ll have a good night sleep as if everything in life is as it should be, and a brighter day is waiting for you tomorrow.

Before you take that pain killer, that shot of vodka or do other self-destructive behaviors, think of your stress as a big balloon in your head and pick one of these five ways, as appropriate, to get an instant emotional release.
