My condolences to the families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting; it is heart breaking to see
innocent people, especially children, become victims of evil minded criminals, like the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting. It is proof that such a horrendous crime
can happen in an affluent and safest place in America. You can protect yourself from many things, but protecting yourself from the unknown evil that live among us is
not an easy one.
If Afghanistan’s Taliban
beheads and cuts noses or ears, there is pretty simple explanation of it for the rest of us. We think they are
narrow minded, brain washed, barbaric group who are not educated or have not seen the world. They simply
don’t know a better way of living. But, to see harsher crimes come out of young men here in America, it
raises some questions about our society. On one hand, the young men responsible for the Columbine High School, Virginia Tech Institute, and Sandy Hook Elementary School massacres are loners who didn't get along with others and
had tough time living their lives. On the other hand, what part of the society failed to see what these young men were
going through? Can we blame their parents, teachers or larger community? Or, the government for its
gun control policy?
Young girls and women in Afghanistan burn themselves to death or permanent disfigurement because they
don’t have any other way out of their miserable lives with their parents or husbands. But, what could be in these
young men’s lives that they didn't see a way out?
On a bigger picture, our system in America does is not pressure people like dictatorship, communism, fanatics or monarchs. We have a capitalist society with
lots of freedom to allow its citizens to live in peace with equal constitutional rights. Our lives are
full of choices that at times feel overwhelming for young adults. We have become a giant commercial and
celebrity nation with too many messages and
too few listeners. Technology
isolated us as a family and community. Our kids grow
up too fast with violent video games, Hollywood movies, and provocative music. Our kids are
robbed of their innocence. Before they are mature enough, reality hits them as young adults, and they are
not prepared to take on the enormous responsibility of their real lives.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those who have suffered
this big loss, and I hope that they find
peace in their hearts to move on with their lives, and let’s pray that
nobody else is faced with such evil minded sick criminals ever again.
