Treat Your Anxiety With Meditation NOT Medications

It is so sad to hear that so many people, especially young women, are suffering more from stress and anxiety.

I can understand why and now that I am on the other side of the fence, I can see the solution very clearly

For years, I treated my sadness and stress with a good does of sleep. It was the best thing I could do for myself at that time. It helped to take the pressure off what I was feeling at the time, but I wasted all those times that I slept during the day to feel better

I don't know about you, but I'm against taking any kind of pill, especially to correct my sadness or fears. Some people who take antidepressants call it a lifesaver medicine. They must take it because they would not be able to function well without it.

But, if you know that there are alternative to medications, you'll not live one more day in a negative state of being.

The first solution is your breath

If you need a relief immediately, use your breath to get rid of the excess buildup on your mind.

Here’s how to do it:

Anytime that you feel stressed, overwhelmed or exhausted, sit or stand tall and comfortable. If you can, close your eyes and your mouth. Take a slow and deep inhale through your nose and imagine you are filling a balloon up in your head instead of taking the air into your lungs. Hold the breath for as long as you can, then release it with control, very slowly through your nose, squeezing all the air out of that balloon in your head. Hold your breath for as long as you can, and then take another inhale. Repeat the cycle three or four times. I guarantee that your anxiousness, and overwhelm will be cut in half.

Now, remember to do it as often as you need it throughout the day - or make it a routine to do it at a certain time of the day.

The second solution is your religion.

Believe it or not, religion used to provide spiritual support for people. It took care of our fears. Most of the teachings are to have faith in the power of a much bigger force to take care of things for us. That is not true nowadays. We are much more focused on our physical outer world. Either we failed religion or religion failed us. But we do need a system to bring that faith back to our lives.

If your religion does not help you to feel safe and warm in this place, then you should create your own routine. Create a way to connect to your inner self and this universe.

The third solution is meditation.

This is a state that fear is absent and you are surrendering yourself to the power of the universe. If you become successful at meditation, consider your life transformed. So, it worth the time & efforts to learn. All it takes is your breath and desire to make it happen.

I hope I have convinced you to start using your breath consciously,  go back to the teachings of your religion, and take the time to learn and practice meditation.

This is a wrap for me here.

Until next time,

Aloha
